There could be some truth to the adage “Laughter is the best medicine.” Research suggests laughter can decrease stress hormones, artery inflammation and boost HDL (the “good” cholesterol). In addition, the effects of laughter have been found to last 24 hours.
Keeping these facts in mind, the Northwest Arkansas office of the American Heart Association is changing the focus for the 2015 Heart Ball to a comedy showcase. Whether you guffaw or giggle, chuckle or cackle it’s an evening you won’t want to miss. Comedians, Dwayne Perkins and Eric Schwartz will entertain guests at the 2015 Northwest Arkansas Heart Ball.
Dwayne Perkins, a Brooklyn native, is a young vet to the comedy game. He made several appearances on Comedy Central® and Conan, as well as a recurring piece on The Jay Leno Show.
Eric Schwartz, is known for his musical comedy, physical antics and social commentary. His appearances include The Tonight Show, Showtime, Comics Unleashed and BET.
In addition to the hilarious comedy, the Heart Ball will also feature an incredible silent and live auction, dinner, and the annual Sweethearts Presentation. There will also be a special portion of the evening dedicated to this year’s featured survivor, Ryder Roark, and his family.
